Millennials (born 1981–1996) remember life before smartphones and social media. Gen Z (1997–2012) are true digital natives — they never knew a world without the internet, smartphones, or on-demand video. Gen Z tends to be more pragmatic, financially cautious, and socially conscious, shaped by growing up during economic uncertainty and climate change awareness.

No official body defines generation boundaries. The Pew Research Center, news organisations, marketing companies, and academic demographers all use slightly different cutoffs based on their research focus. The ranges in this calculator use the most widely cited values in contemporary demographic research.
