How does the love calculator work?
The love calculator uses a deterministic hash function based on both entered names, normalised to lowercase, to produce a consistent percentage between 0–100%. The same two names always return the same score regardless of who enters them or when — making it fun to compare results with friends.
Will the same names always give the same result?
Yes — the algorithm is deterministic and order-independent (name A + name B = name B + name A). The same pairing always gives exactly the same love percentage. This means you can share your result with the other person and they'll see the same number. No randomness is involved.
Is the result scientifically meaningful?
No — love compatibility cannot be meaningfully measured by a name-based algorithm. Real relationship compatibility depends on communication, shared values, emotional intelligence, trust, and mutual effort. This calculator is purely for entertainment. Use it for fun, laughs, and social sharing — not life decisions.
What does a high or low score mean?
Nothing scientifically — a 97% score doesn't predict a great relationship, and a 23% score doesn't mean you're incompatible. The score is based on character patterns in the names you enter.
